What are we fighting for?

Searching for hope and life
I look here are there
forced conscription takes me

What are we fighting for
What are we fighting for

In a war we cannot see
fighting an enemy that i'm told
does not exist so....

What are we fighting for
What are we fighting for

What are we fighting for
What are we fighting for

is there any rhyme or reason
any life beyond this mundane
beyond the here and now

will i die no better that i am now
will i seek gods; gods who do not satisfy
sex life friends fun

What are we fighting for
What are we fighting for

All hope turns and dies, worthless, hopeless
the green apple turns brown and shows its face
there is no such thing as beyond now

What are we fighting for
What are we fighting for

What are we fighting for
This is what we fight for

With knees bowed and bent
before the shadow of the king I fall
bent and broken bent and broken

This is what we fight for
This is who we fight for

Before his bloody and whip bitten body i fall
before his nail bitten hands and feet i fall
Before the lamb i cry...

This is who we fight for
This is who we fight for

This is who we fight for
This is who we fight for!

Brothers lost and brothers found
on God's great glory i want to expound
through song and lyre i hope to mirror

the man we are fighting for
This is who we are fighting for!
